SRINAGAR: An amount of Rs. 76.49 Crores was spent during 2012-13, under Centrally Sponsored Scheme Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojna “RKVY” for the promotion of Agriculture & allied sectors in J&K State. This includes Rs. 21.00 Crores under normal RKVY, Rs. 43.94 Crores under National Mission on Saffron, Rs. 6.45 Crores under Vegetable Initiative Scheme for Urban Cluster, Rs. 5.08 under Nation Mission on Protein Supplementation for Live stock & Fish. This was disclosed during a meeting held by Commissioner Secretary to Government Agriculture Production Department Dr. Asgar Hassan Samoon to review the performance under the programme during the last year, as also to discuss the current year’s plan under this flagship programme. The head of departments of Agriculture & allied departments attended the meeting. On this occasion Commissioner Secretary urged the officers to implement the scheme in a mission mode to ensure desired results on ground. He asked the sectoral officers to prepare the current year’s plan with 10% step up of the last year’s outlay, so that the plan is presented before the state level committee for approval. Dr. Samoon underscored the need of constitution of various committees comprising of experts from SKUAST-K/J, Agriculture department, Horticulture department, Central Institute of Temperate Horticulture, National Horticulture Board & Mechanical Engineering Department for monitoring various sub-projects like Spice Park, Production of Root Stock for Horticulture Sector etc. |
