BUDGAM: To make the administration responsive to the demands of people and to ensure facilities at their doorsteps, Deputy Commissioner, Budgam, Mr. Khurshid Ahmad Shah along with the officers and engineers of various departments visited remote and far flung areas of the district including Pakherpora, Kanidajan, Qanoongopora, Kongaypora, Ichgam and Kaneera. The Deputy Commissioner inspected Panzan Bridge, besides under construction power receiving station at Kaneera and enjoined upon the engineers of R&B and PDD to expedite the ongoing construction work and use quality material. The Deputy Commissioner also inspected water filtration plant at Kanidajan which provides about 60,000 gallons filtered water per day for the consumption of the people of the area. He also inspected fish ponds at Ichgam and Poultry Units in the area. Mr. Shah urged the concerned officers to make people aware about the benefits of setting up of income generating units especially in Agriculture sector so that their socio-economic conditions are improved to boost the rural economy. It was given out on the occasion that about 540 Poultry Units are functioning in the district. Among others, Chief Executive Officer, Yusmarg Development Authority, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, Budgam, Executive Engineers of PHE, Irrigation, R&B and PDD accompanied. |
