| Gurezi inspects various ongoing works | | Announces Rs. 2 lakh out of CDF for construction of protection bund | |
GUREZ: Minister of State for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control, Mr. Nazir Ahmad Gurezi today conducted extensive tour to various areas of Tehsil Gurez and took stock of people’s problems besides developmental needs. He also inspected various developmental works under execution. The areas visited include Chorwan, Burnaie, Kashpat and Zadigi villages.
Addressing a series of public meetings in the areas, the Minister said that Government has taken several initiatives for bringing a change in the socio-economic status of the people of the State especially those living in inaccessible and far flung areas.
He said that almost all the sectors have been prioritized especially Education, Health, PHE, Irrigation and R&B to extend the basic amenities to the people.
Making a mention of the developmental programmes initiated in the Tehsil Gurez, the Minister said that a network of road connectivity, modern and latest diagnostic facilities in all health institutions, development of playing fields, improvement in power and drinking water facilities besides repairs of irrigation khuls and protection of bunds have been taken up in hand at a large scale in the Tehsil.
He said several projects are under execution in the constituency to improve the socio-economic profile of the people and on completion of these projects and developmental works not only better facilities would be extended to the people but unemployment opportunities will be generated for educated unemployed youth. He said that for better education facilities, Government High School, Chorwan shall be upgraded and giving fillip to agriculture sector Polygreen houses shall be made available at subsidized rates. He also said that 5 dozers shall be kept ready at Razdan Top, Zathkushy, Kunzalwan, Dawar and Neeru Tulail to clear the road in case of any road block. During inspection to Primary School at Chorwan, the Minister assured that the building for the school shall be constructed and made available on priority basis. He directed the Deputy Commissioner, Bandipora, who was accompanying with the Minister, to arrange one room tenement for proper function of the school till completion of the building. Regarding the repairs and renovation of Water Supply Scheme at Madoodat-Shatyandat, the Minister directed the Executive Engineer PHE to make the scheme functional on priority.
The Minister announced Rs. 2 lakh out of his Constituency Development Fund for construction of protection bund near Masjid Sharief Burnaie. He also announced that the families living below poverty line of village Burnaie and Tulshay would be covered under IAY during the current year. He also said that separate electric generator will be provided to Kashpat village.
He announced that the construction work on bridge on Kishan Ganga Nallah at Burnaie to connect Dat village would be taken up soon and directed the Executive Engineer R & B to survey the Burnaie area and prepare Detailed Project Report for Burnaie road and submit the same to the concerned for accord of necessary approval. |
