| DDC holds interaction with sarpanchs | | | SAMBA: Deputy Commissioner Samba R.K Varma held an interaction session with Sarpanches of Vijaypur and Purmandal blocks.
The DDC said that the objective of this event was to assess the genuine demands and problems being faced by the people of rural and border areas of the district, so that these could be taken into consideration while formulating current year’s plan under Border Area Development Programme (BADP).
The Sarpanchs projected their problems and demands like better road connectivity, adequate availability of ration, updating of fresh BPL survey, encroachment of Community Lands in Panchayat Halqas, complete empowerment of PRIs, monitoring of development works in their Panchayat Halqas, participation of halqa level officers of various departments in the monthly meeting being conducted at the panchayat halqua level.
The DDC appealed the Sarpanches to monitor the developmental works and functioning of government institutions for better results and assured them that the problems projected by them will be looked into and all efforts will be made to make PRIs more vibrant. |
