| Rs. 454.79 Cr advanced for setting up of IG Units in Baramulla | | | BARAMULLA: To set up different Income Generating Units in Baramulla district, Rs. 454.79 crore have been advanced by various financial institutions during the last financial year. This was stated at District Level Review Committee meeting here today. The meeting was chaired by District Development Commissioner, Baramulla, Mr. Ghulam Ahmad Khawaja. Officers and representatives from sponsoring departments, Banks and Reserve Bank of India also participated. Giving details, Zonal Lead Bank Officer, Baramulla said that Rs. 320.39 crores were provided under Agriculture sector, Rs. 103.68 crore advanced under Small Enterprises Sector while Rs. 30.72 crore under Service Sector during the period. District Development Commissioner on this occasion stressed upon Managers of all the banks and the sponsoring agencies to work with cooperation, coordination and cohesion to achieve the goals and targets of development, progress and eradication of unemployment. He further emphasized upon various agencies of the district to create proper awareness among the people about the setting up of income generating units so that the educated unemployed youth can improve their socio-economic status. |
