| Sadhotra visits quake affected Kansar, Jagota Addresses public meetings | | | | BHADERWAH, May 11 : To assess the damages and oversee the relief and rehabilitation measures, Minister for Planning and Development, Mr. Ajay Sadhotra today visited quake affected parts of Kansar and Jagota areas and addressed public gatherings. MLA Bhaderwah Mohammad Sharief Niaz, besides senior officers accompanied the Minister. Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that the State Government is fully aware of the damages and destruction caused by the earthquake in the region and it was mobilizing resources to provide best possible relief to the affected for reconstruction/ repair of their damaged structures. He said that tents are being provided to the affected families as a temporary shelter. He directed the officers to assess the damages on ground and ensure that no affected family was left out in the survey. Mr. Sadhotra said that Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has sanctioned Rs. 25 crore for speedy restoration of public services in earthquake hit areas which have been released to the concerned Deputy Commissioners.“Besides three months free ration will be provided to the affected families in the region” he said and added that directions have been issued to the concerned authorities to purchase tents and finalize the damage assessment report as early as possible. He said teams constituted at Block level, tehsil level and village level are making detailed survey in the entire District. He asked the people to cooperate with the survey teams. |
