UDHAMPUR, May 11 : District Development Commissioner, Udhampur, Mrs. Yasha Mudgal who is also Controller Civil Defence Organization, today distributed Training Allowance cheques amounting to Rs. 33,600 among 16 civil Defence volunteers who were imparted training under Pilot Project Scheme. The programme was organized by Civil Defence organization Udhampur. Speaking on the occasion, Mrs. Mudgal said that the basic training is very useful for the volunteers to minimize the loss of human life and property during the natural and manmade calamities. She also called upon the CD volunteers to educate the common masses in their respective areas not only about the activities of the Organization but also train and motivate them to develop a responsible approach. The Controller appreciated the Civil Defence unit Udhampur for carrying out their activities in the district in a better way. Underlining the need of generating maximum awareness about the activities of CD, she emphasized to involve more and more youths to utilize their energy in right prospective. She stressed that every citizen should be a volunteer of civil defence so that society may become excellent in all spheres. Particularly our attitude towards old, women, girls, children infirm etc should be caring, protective and dignified, she underlined. Joint Director Planning, Mr. Rakesh Jamwal also spoke on the occasion and asked to generate awareness among the common masses to minimize the loss of property and life during any toward incident. Earlier, Deputy Controller, Civil Defence, Udhampur, Dy SP Bodh Raj presented welcome address and gave detailed resume of the activities carried out by the organization in last fiscal by a power point presentation. Chief Warden, Surinder Khajuria, Senior Deputy Chief Warden, Mr. Ved Parkash, Deputy Chief Warden Advocate Swatantra Dev Kotwal, Civil Defence Wardens, staff and Volunteers attended the programme. |
