KATHUA: Member Parliament, Ch. Lal Singh, convened a public meeting to take stock of people’s grievances in Kathua today. Former Legislator, Basohli, Assistant Commissioner (Rev), Kathua, Superintendent Engineer PDD besides Executive Engineer, PHE, Assistant Director CAPD, DEPO Kathua, sarpanchs, panchs and locals were present in the meeting.
On the occasion, deputations from various panchayats like Soula, Tridwan, Hatli, Spalwan highlighted their problems and demands including new ration cards to BPL families besides supply of full ration quota to them, irregular sugar supply,
additional ration depot to cater to large area of the panchayat, regular supply of ration. Besides, Hote Panchayat members demanded early completion of work on Dug Wells while the people of Palail panchayat demanded early completion of water supply scheme.
The Sowla deputation demanded houses for the needy people under Indira Awaas Yojana( IAY) while Sarpanch Tridwan projected the demand of mini dugwell.The MP said the government is committed to strengthen the panchayats for economic and social development of rural areas. He appealed the people to avail maximum benefit from centrally sponsored schemes like MGNREGA, which not only provides employment but also accelerates development of rural areas.
Responding to the demands and problems projected by the people, the MP directed the officers of concerned departments to take up all these issues at the appropriate level for redressal. |
