| All villages of erstwhile Udhampur, Doda districts to be connected by 2018 - Lal Singh | | | Early TImes Report
REASI, May 20: Member Parliament Udhampur-Doda constituency, Choudhary Lal Singh today said that all villages of his constituency would be connected by roads by 2018 under the Prime Minister’s Road Connectivity and other schemes. Addressing a public gathering after inaugurating a bridge at Agar village on Reasi –Jyotipuram road, the MP said that massive road connectivity programme launched under various state and central government sponsored schemes have set in a new phase of progress and development in Jammu and Kashmir. The 32 meter long Agar Bridge has been constructed at a cost of 1.55 crore by Border Road Organization( BRO) in record one year time. Listing various projects completed in the state, he said that the development of bad pockets was being prioritized in both central and state government policies and several schemes have been launched under various sectors to achieve this goal. Later, the MP issued direction to the BRO for early completion of widening of Reasi-Mahore road. He asked the BRO functionaries to speed up construction of the culverts and metalling of the road. They assured MP that the work on Reasi-Katra road will be completed soon. Earlier, to listen to the grievance of the people residing in the remote hilly area, the Member Parliament conducted an extensive tour of the remote villages of Mahore Tehsil. MP visited Arnas, Dharmari, Chassana, Chajuru, Samlote , where people projected their demands and grievances which were related to augmentation of drinking water supply, strengthening of power infrastructure , streamlining of ration supply, clearance of pending widow pension and old age pension cases . MP gave a patient hearing and assured that the demands would be taken up with the concerned departments |
