REASI: As part of the national environment campaign, sponsored by Ministry of Environment and Forests, an environment awareness programme was organized here today at Government Middle School (GMS), Vijaypur.
The theme of the campaign was ‘Biodiversity Conservation’. The event was marked by a variety of activities including symposium, Painting competition, formation of seed bank.
A rally, involving local community members and students of different schools of the area, was also taken out to spread awareness regarding conservation of environment.
In symposium category, Preeti Devi, Preeti and Neha Devi of Govt. Middle school, Vijaypur secured first, second and third positions respectively. In Painting competition, Madan Kumar stood first, Vishal second, while third position was jointly shared by Pankaj Kumar and Rahul.
ZEO Reasi, Subhash Chander Sharma, was the chief guest on the occasion, while Jaswinder Kour, lecturer, DIET, Reasi presided over the function. District coordinator WWF, Mohammad Akram Khan, was special guest.
Members of Sangam Theatre group Reasi were also present at the event. Vote of thanks was presented by Rakesh Mengi, Head of the school. |
