Reasi Dist administration to set up Grievance redressal Help Line

REASI, May 20: The people of this hill bound district would soon be able to register their complaints at the Deputy Commissioner’s office as the district administration has decided to establish a Public Grievance redressal Help Line at the district headquarter.
This was informed by District Development Commissioner, Reasi, Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, while speaking at a public grievance redressal camp here at Pouni.
People from 35 panchayats of the Block participated and projected their demands before the officers present.
The DDC directed the district and sectoral officers to redress the issues promptly adding that a review meeting would be held after one month to assess action taken on the demands projected. He impressed upon the elected representatives and general public to become stakeholders in planning process and share responsibility with the field functionaries in all the fields.
Taking a serious note of complaints regarding absence of field officials of PHE, Revenue and other departments, the DDC directed the district officers to take stringent action against the delinquent officers He also informed that a public grievance redressal Help Line is being established at the office of Deputy Commissioner for registration of any kind of complaints telephonically.
Dr Shahid directed the sectoral officers to take up smaller projects under convergence for benefiting the community at grass root level.
Highlighting the role of panchayats, he directed all the line departments to ensure involvement of panchayats in day to day functioning without any failure. It was informed that Halqa Patwaris will notify their monthly schedule for presence at office and field. He directed that all the essential services departments shall gear up for better service delivery and evolve a mechanism for grievance redressal at an earliest.
Taking a serious note of absence of two district officers, the DDC directed the SSP to seize their vehicles for unauthorised absence and also withhold their salaries.
A number of issues related to Power, PHE, PMGSY, Health, Transport, Social Welfare, Rural Development, Revenue, Education, Irrigation and Consumer Affairs departments were discussed and a timeline was fixed for the redressal of the same.
The camp was attended by SSP Raghubir Singh, ADDC Rajinder Singh Tara, ACD Joginder Singh, Executive Engineers of PWD, PHE, PDD, PMGSY, REW, Chief Education Officer, CMO, CAHO, DSHO, CAO, BDOs and all the district and sectoral officers.
More than 20 public representatives and senior citizens presented the grievances of their respective areas and also appreciated the efforts of district administration for reaching at the doorsteps of the general public.
Later, a number of deputations called on the DDC and raised issues of public importance.
