DDC Doda reviews relief rehabilitation measures in earthquake affected areas

doda, May 20: To review relief and rehabilitation measures taken by the District administration besides to chalk out the strategy to meet out the requirements of the earthquake affected people, District Development Commissioner Doda Mr. Mubarak Singh convened a meeting of officers of line departments, here today.
Additional District Development Commissioner Doda Mr. G.N Balwan, Additional Deputy Commissioner Doda Mr. Anil Koul, Chief Planning Officer Doda Dr. Yassir Balwan, Assistant Commissioner Development Doda Mr. Rakesh Kumar besides Executive Officer Municipality, Block Development Officers and other officers of the District Administration attended the meeting.
Addressing the meeting, the DDC said that the list of damages have been received and submitted to the Government and impressed upon the officers to ensure fair distribution of relief and assistance among the affected families. He also directed the officers to ensure uninterrupted delivery of essential services to the affected people. He directed the officers to display the lists of earthquake affected people at Block, Panchayat and village levels and also post the list on the District web site for the information of the public as it would help to rectify and correct the minor mistakes if any and also bring transparency.
He said that the tents are being received from the Government and are provided to the affected people in the District which must be pitched in open and safe places and not in the premises of any house so that 3-4 adjoining families get accommodated at a centrally located place.
He also underlined the need to create awareness among the people of the region about the safety and precautions to be taken in such natural calamities. He revealed that an awareness programme would be organized for creating awareness among the people especially Sarpanches, Panches to create mass awareness about the precautions.
The DDC asked the officers to work in coordinated manner to ensure timely and Swift assistance to the affected people. He also called for putting a check on the rumours.
