| Work on 3 Tulail bridges soon: Gurezi | | MOS concludes 3-Day visit to Gurez | | Gurez: Minister of State for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control Mr. Nazir Ahmad Gurezi said that three bridges at a cost of Rs. 6.65 crore have been sanctioned at Gujran, Nerushat and Purana Tulail and construction work on these bridges would be started soon. The Minister was interacting with people at various places including Achoora, Dawar, Jalindara and Chauntiwari during his 3-Day extensive tour to Gurez Valley. During inspection of Dawar Bridge taken up with an estimated cost of Rs 3.48 crore, the Minister was informed that Rs.70 lakh have been released so far and Rs.10 lakh have been incurred on out of estimated cost of Rs.2 crore on Achoora Bridge. He was also informed that the macadamization of Kanzalwan- Tarabal road has been started with an estimated cost of Rs.3.80 crore. The Minister directed the officers of the concerned departments and executing agencies to speed up the pace of work on all on-going developmental projects in Gurez and complete them in a stipulated time frame. He asked them to use standard material and ensure judicious use of funds and warned them any lapses, in this regard, would not be tolerated. The Minister also visited Sub District Hospital, Gurez and took stock of construction work on central heating system, besides the facilities available in the hospital for the patients. He directed the concerned to speed up the pace of work on central heating system and complete it within time frame. He also asked the hospital administration to ensure sanitation in and around the hospital and ensure availability of medicine and punctuality of staff. Mr. Gurezi also inspected Medical Aid Centre, Achoora and took stock of the facilities available in the centre. Earlier, the Minister convened a public meeting at Dawar and asked the people to strengthen the hands of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for sustained development of the State. He said that several developmental initiates have been taken by the Coalition Government to ensure sustained and overall development besides ensuring the socio-economic transformation of the people living in far flung areas of State. |
