| JU appeals Non-Gazzeted employees to call off strike, accepts most of the demands | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, June 2 : Appealing the protesting Claas-IV Non Gazzeted employees of Jammu University to call off their strike, Varsity administration today accepted most of the demands of the employees and maintained that rest of the demands are under active consideration of the authorities. According to University handout the Class IV employees will get pre-revised scale of 4000-6000 for category-I and of 5000-8000 for category-II after getting the third step in career advancement scheme which has been recently approved by the competent authority. By doing so the major demand of the striking employees has been accepted. It would mean a major jump in their salaries, the handout claimed. It further said that in another order the University has re-designated the Class-IV employees who have completed 20 years of service, as Daftri. The University has also accepted the demand for payment of 3rd installment of arrears on account of 6th Pay Commission. So far as regularization of the daily wage workers is concerned, the matter is under active consideration of the State Government, the handout said. Several rounds of negotiations have taken place between the committee constituted by the University and the office bearers of the NGEU wherein the efforts of the University authorities in resolving the issues in the interest of the employees have been explained. The committee has assured the office bearers of the NGEU that all their pending issues are under active consideration of the University authority and the state government. |
