Govt committed to address development aspirations of the people: Tara Chand
Meets series of deputations

JAMMU, June 2 : Stating that all round development of the state is priority of the government, Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Tara Chand said work on equitable development of all three regions of the state is resolve of the government and all out efforts are on to provide basic facilities to the people living in every nook and corner of the state.
He said addressing development aspirations of the people is high on the agenda and mega projects have been launched to modernize infrastructure all across the state.
Mr. Tara Chand was addressing a series of deputations of people at his residence, here today.
To discuss development matters of their respective areas Sarpanches, Panches, social activists and political workers from rural and border belts of the region had called on the Deputy Chief Minister. Addressing delegations from Khour and Pargwal areas, Mr. Tara Chand said three mega projects of model villages are underway and work on these in going on at fast pace. He said work schedules and activities should be followed on time line so as to avoid delays in their completion. He said Panchayat representatives should keep a close vigil on the progress and quality of works so that durable assets get created with in stipulated time frame under these projects. “All those involved in the model village project should gear up their efforts and complete the works well in time to fully utilize the funds made available for these prestigious projects,” he added.
He called upon local representatives to generate awareness among the masses about various government schemes and welfare initiatives, adding that exemplary programmes like SKEWPY have been started to encourage entrepreneurship among the youth so that people start looking beyond the government sector for employment. Later, other deputations met the Deputy Chief Minister and apprised him about various demands which inter-alia include, un-interrupted power supply, potable drinking water, road connectivity, benefits under various state and centrally sponsored government schemes and adequate water availability for irrigation purpose in summer season. While giving patient hearing to the deputations Mr. Tara Chand assured that all genuine demands of the people would be addressed at the earliest and also issued on spot instructions to the concerned for taking up the issues on priority.
