Roadmap approved to provide job oriented skill training to 9 lakh youth: Rather
25 Corporate Bodies across country committed for training, placements of 25000 youth

SRINAGAR, June 8 : The Minister for Finance and Ladakh Affairs, Mr. Ab Rahim Rather has said that the government has approved a road map for skill upgradation of 9 lakh persons during the 12th Five Years Plan period so as to improve their employability and earning capacity. Focus will be on un-employed youth belonging to the backward areas and less privileged sections of the society. Addressing a public gathering at a remote and backward village, Bonen in Tehsil Chadoora, Mr. Rather said a multi-pronged strategy has been launched to solve the un-employment problem adding that directions have been already given to concerned agencies to fast track the recruitment process. “It is hoped that 70,000 to 80,000 posts shall be filled up during next few months, Mr. Rather added. He said commitment of 25 Corporate Bodies across the country has been received under the banner of UDAAN, to train up 25,000 youth of the State in skill leading to jobs through higher and better qualifications. Job offers have already been received by the initial batches that have successfully completed their skill upgradation courses. He said under HIMAYAT, about one lakh youth are to be targeted for skill development and placements during five years’ time frame. The District Development Commissioner, Budgam Mr. Khursheed Ahmed Shah, CEO, Budgam, Nazir Ahmed, Executive Engineer, R&B, Chadoora, Sheikh Gh. Mohammad, senior engineers and officers of the district administration accompanied the Minister. Mr. Rather cautioned the people about the machinations of the opposition, adding that “they will come to mislead you by raising frivolous issues, because they have no agenda to face the people”. He said they (opposition) will never succeed in its game plan as the people are wise enough to judge who are their friends and who are foes. He assured that promises made to the people will be fulfilled with act of faith assuring that all the resources are being pooled to come up to their expectations. He said touring remote and backward areas along with officers and engineer was part of the government strategy to reach out to the people near to their doorsteps to redress their grievances on the spot.
Responding to the demands of the people, Mr. Rather announced upgradation and magamization of Surisyar to Goggipathri road via Bonen and Kootabal under PMGSY and construction and renovation of Bonen to Batawudar road. He also announced upgradation of Government Middle School Bonen to High School level. He assured that the demands regarding opening of timber depot and ration depot at Bonen will also be fulfilled shortly. He said Central Government is enacting a law shortly which will entitle the people to get ration as per the latest census (2011).
