Farmers advised not to use weedicide “Butaveer” Batch No’s Butsa-30002 & 3006
Law Enforcement Agency continues inspection of various Pesticide godowns

SRINAGAR : According to Deputy Director Law Enforcement, Department of Agriculture farmers shall not use weedicide namely “Butaveer” manufactured by Saraswati Agro Chemicals Ltd. vide batch No’s. Butsa-30002 & Butsa-30006 in their fields as the weedicide have been found mis-branded in the Quality Control Laboratory of the Department of Agriculture Kashmir.
Mean while during its continuous drive to check the menace of distribution of un-authorized and misbranded pesticides in the valley Law Enforcement agency of Agriculture Department inspected various godowns of dealers of Pesticides in District Kupwara and put on sale stop 50 litres of Corobon, 30 litres of Agromin, 40 kgs of Indofil M-45, 30 kgs of AVTAR, 400 kgs of BUTAVEER from Wilgam Agro Cooperative Marketing Ltd Handwara, 50 litres of Corobon, 12 litres of Score and 4 kgs of BAYCOR from Sajad Hussain Wani of Handwara, 10 kgs of SPARSH, 20 kgs of Indofil M-45, 8 kgs of INCIST and 20 kgs of CYGNET from Evergreen Traders Handwara, 140 kgs of Indofil M-45 and 50 litres of QUANALPHOS from G.D.Banday and sons Handwara, 24 litres of X-mite, 10 kgs of INCOM, 32 kgs of Indofil M-45, 12 kgs of COMPANION, 6 kgs of XTRUDE and 96 kgs of NANOZIM from Ajaz Ahmad Langoo of Kupwra, 7 litres of ERGON, 100 litres of AMINOZ and 28 kgs of NOOR from Marazi Agri Traders Handwara. All the above pesticides dealers were found running their business in contravention of Insecticides Act 1968 and Insecticide Rule 1971. In the mean while Law Enforcement Inspector Anantnag put on sale stop 20 kgs of Bayleton, 900 ml of Governor, 800 litres of CUMAN-L from M/S N-Bhat Traders Bijbehara Anantnag for contravention of Insecticide Rules 1971 The sale stops will be followed by seizures very soon. Farmers are advised to ask for cash memo from the dealers while purchasing of such pesticides, Insecticides and Fertilizers and Seeds.
