DDC Doda convenes a meeting of prominent citizens

DODA, July 4: To listen to the demands and grievances of the people of Doda town District Development Commissioner Doda Mubarak Singh convened a meeting of prominent citizens here at Doda today.
Additional District Development Commissioner Doda Sh. G.N. Balwan, Additional Deputy Commissioner A.K Koul, Chief Planning Officer Yasir Balwan, Medical Superintendent District Hospital Doda Dr. M.F Bhat, Chief Medical Officer Dr Ajay Gupta, prominent citizens, representatives of Beopar Mandal, representatives of various political organizations besides various others were also present in the meeting.
Various issues that were discussed in the meeting include acute water shortage in the town, regulation of Traffic in the District, early Construction of road to District Hospital, posting of radiologist in District Hospital, maintaining cleanliness in hospital and town, erratic power supply, widening of pul Doda to city road, early Construction of pul doda link road, Transport facility from Doda to khellani, Repair of town roads, cleaning of drains, uninterrupted power and water supply during month of ramzan, early completion of dessa Doda water supply scheme, providing free ration to earthquake affected families, besides various other issues were also discussed in the meeting.
DDC stressed upon the prominent citizens to give feedback regarding various developmental works going on in the area which will definitely help in improving efficiency and transparency in the functioning of the administration. DDC while appreciating the people of the district for maintaining patience and peace during the disaster said that affected families will get relief in a fair and transparent manner.
Underlining the importance of bonafide criticism by the public, the DDC said that it helps in improving the working of the administration. DDC also assured the meeting that their genuine demands and grievances will be looked into and redressed appropriately. Appreciating the people of Doda for maintaining age old tradition of communal peace and harmony in the area DDC said that peace and harmony is prerequisite for development of any area.
