SRINAGAR, July 9 : Lt. Gen. Sanjiv Chachra, GOC-in-C, Northern Command, called on Mr. N. N. Vohra, Governor, at Raj Bhavan, here this evening.
During their more than an hour long meeting, the Governor and the Northern Army Commander discussed certain recent incidents of terrorist violence and related issues concerning internal and external security management, infiltration from across the LoC, and the overall security scenario in the State. They also discussed issues relating to the security of the ongoing Shri Amarnathji Yatra.
The Northern Army Commander was accompanied by Lt. Gen. Gurmeet Singh, GOC XV Corps. This was Lt. Gen. Chachra’s first meeting with the Governor after he took over charge of the Northern Army Command on 1st July 2013. The Governor wished Lt. Gen. Chachra a very successful tenure. |
