| Development priority of Govt: Sagar | | | Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, July 9 : Maintaining that ensuring sustained development of the City is one of the top priorities of the Government, the Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Mr. Ali Mohammad Sagar has said that mechanism to monitor the status of developmental initiatives undertaken by Government has been put in place to ensure completion within the stipulated time period. The Minister was interacting with the people of different localities during his extensive of Srinagar city. He was accompanied by senior officers of different departments like SMC, PDD, UEED, PHE, Irrigation, LAWDA etc. The Minister said that the people should not pay heed to the false propaganda propagated by certain forces against the government as they are real enemies of the peace and believe in politics of deceit and deception. “People should come forward and strengthen the hands of the Government which has been responsible for sustaining the peace in the State. It is due to the peaceful environs that various developmental works have been undertaken, executed and the tourist boom is also due to this factor”, he maintained. Mr. Sagar while inspecting the pace of work on the community hall being constructed at Aabi-Nowpora directed the SMC to ensure its completion as early as possible for the general convenience of the people living in the area. While responding to the people of the area, the Minister directed the officers to prepare a comprehensive report for construction of parking facilities in the area and also taking up work on foot bridges. The Minister also directed the PHE officers to take immediate steps for addressing the water shortage in the area and asked them to redress the same within days. He said that the necessary steps to augment the water supply should also be taken for the convenience of the people. The Minister also directed the PDD officers to take necessary steps for augmentation of power supply in the areas. |
