Police arrests accused involved in rape and murder of minor

Bhaderwah : After protest and demonstration against the failure of the police in arresting the kidnapper of a girl from Nalthi village of Bhaderwah who killed her after committing rape, police constituted three special teams to trace out the accused Thirath Singh. On Monday 40-year-old Thirath was arrested when he was escaping to Doda from link road near Government Higher Secondary School Bhaderwah with the help of a local youth namely Rishi Kotwal. Police said that the accused confessed his crime in the interrogation and said that he had committed the rape of minor girl before murdering her. The accused, according to police, also confessed that before the kidnapping he had in the past also made many unsuccessful attempts of rape the girl. The ASP Bhaderwah Roop Raj, SDPO Jameel Ahmed and SHO Sanjay informed that accused will be presented before the court on Tuesday and a case under section 302 , 376 and other sections has already been registered at PS Bhaderwah. Police also produced the accused before the media on Monday.
