| Govt mulls to install SPPs at all district, ort hospitals: Feroz | | Sarwal Hospital gets Solar Power Plant | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, July 15 : Government has decided to install Solar Power Plants at every district and Sub District Hospital of the state to provide these health institutions a dependable power supply system. This was stated by the Minister of State for Science and Technology and Information Technology Feroz Ahmed Khan, after inaugurating a Solar Power Plant (SPP) here today at Sarwal Hospital . The Minister of State for Health Shabir Ahmed Khan was also present at the inauguration function. The 20 KW Solar Plant has been installed by the Jammu and Kashmir Energy Development Agency (JAKEDA) of the Science and Technology Department at a cost of Rs. 49 lakh which will augment the power requirement of the hospital round the clock. Mr. Feroz said that the government was keen to harness new and renewable energy potential in the state and use it as an instrument to improve socio-economic condition of the people. He said that the government has decided to install solar plants at all district and sub-district hospitals to make available round the clock source of energy to these institutions. He stressed upon the health department to maintain close liaison with the Science and Technology department and provide feedback about the functioning of the solar plant installed in various hospital buildings. Minister of State for Health, in his address, said that with the installation of Solar Power Plant, the hospital will get uninterrupted power supply round the clock and help in improving the health services. He said that Gandhi Nagar hospital will also be provided this facility to overcome the problem of power crisis. He further said that all the District Hospital, PHC, CHCs will also be provided Solar Power Plant facilities. He urged the Minister for Science and Technology to permanently depute a team of department which would check the Solar Power Plants installed in hospitals once a month and also train one or two person of concerned hospital to handle the equipment. Shabir Khan stressed for maintaining hygienic and clean conditions in and around the hospital premises. After inauguration, the Ministers inspected the hospital and took stock of the medicare facilities being provided to the patients. They went round various wards and sections including X-ray room, OPD, Operation Theatre, etc. Among others, MLA Jammu West Chaman Lal Gupta, Medical Superintendent Sarwal Hospital Dr. Mohammad Younis, CEO JAKEDA Peerzada Hafizullah, senior doctors of Sarwal Hospitals, officers from JAKEDA were also present. |
