| BMO, 2 Doctors suspended, 2 medicos transferred | | | Shopian, July 27 : Three doctors were placed under suspension and two other medical officers transferred by authorities in different places of Kashmir Valley. The transferred officials were allegedly involved in unsafe injection practices. An official spokesman in a statement issued to Global News Service (GNS) said that a doctor Nusrat, a Gynecologist was suspended after Deputy Commissioner, Shopian, Javed Khan found him absent from duty while conducting surprise visit to District Hospital and inspected its functioning. He ordered suspension of the said doctor with immediate effect. The DC also issued instructions to the Chief Medical Officer, Shopian to detail on night duty of two doctors, one male and one female at Shopian hospital for the convenience of the patients. He also issued instructions to improve the sanitation facilities in and around the hospital. Similarly Deputy Commissioner, Kupwara, Itrat Hussain has placed Dr Idrees, Block Medical Officer, Zachaldara and Dr Gulzar Parra, Assistant Surgeon under suspension with immediate effect for breach of peace and tranquility in block Zachaldara and pending enquiry were attached with the office of Chief Medical Officer, Kupwara till further orders. Additional Deputy Commissioner, Handwara has been nominated as enquiry officer who shall furnish his enquiry report within 15 days. Meanwhile, taking stern action against the medical officers involved in unsafe injection practices, Director Health Services Kashmir (DHSK) today ordered the transfer of Dr Shabnam Qureshi, Medical Officer (MO) and Incharge SR Gunj to SDH Beerwah, Budgam while Gulrukh Zaheen, Jr. Pharmacist, SR Gunj has been transferred to PHE, Khonmoh. |
