Sagar inspects healthcare facilities in JLNM, Gousia hospitals

SRINAGAR, July 27 : Minister for Rural development and Panchayati Raj, Mr. Ali Mohammad Sagar today said that healthcare is the top most priority of the Government and several innovative measures have been taken to upgrade the health related infrastructure across the State during the past over four years. The Minister was interacting with the prominent citizens and doctors while inspecting the pace of work on the construction of new building of Jawahar Lal Nehru Memorial hospital which is under execution at an estimated cost of Rs. 58 crore.
Medical Superintendent JLNM hospital and senior officers of various departments including, R&B, PHE, JKPCC were also present on the occasion. Mr. Sagar directed the executing agency to speed up the pace of work and complete the project within the stipulated time frame so that the people living in old city get the upgraded health care facilities. He directed the officers to work in close coordination so that the bottlenecks, if any, are removed and the project gets completed expeditiously. The Minister also directed the officers to develop the necessary parking facilities in the hospital premises for the convenience of the people. He also inspected the pace of progress on the proposed shopping complex which is under construction in the hospital premises.
The Minister was informed that an amount of Rs. 4 crore has been sanctioned under NRHM for the overall development of JLNM hospital. The Minister also visited Gousia Hospital Khanyar and inspected the facilities available there. He directed the Medical Superintendent to install Air Conditioner in the hospital for which the funds would be provided out of his Constituency Development Funds. He directed the administration to maintain proper sanitation in and around the hospital and improve medicare facilities in the hospital.
