| DDC reviews progress under Education and YSS sectors at Ang | | |
ANANTNAG : A review meeting chaired by District Development Commissioner Anantnag, Dr. Farooq Ahmad Lone was held today, the meeting was aimed to review the progress of various Centrally Sponsored Schemes being implemented by Education department.
Additional District Development Commissioner Anantnag, District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Chief Education Officer and Chief Planning Officer were also present in the meeting.
Various issues including elementary education, secondary education, progress under SSA, RMSA while under youth services and sports the progress on the development of play fields in the district was also reviewed.
It was given out in the meeting that for elementary education an amount of Rs. 13.71 crores has been allocated for the current financial year out of which Rs. 84 lakhs for Primary Midday Meals and Rs. 67 lakhs for Upper Primary. It also includes Rs. 50 lakhs for free supply of text books and Rs. 115 lakhs for constructing 43 new school buildings during the current year.
For Secondary Education an amount of Rs. 618.02 lakhs has been allocated for the current financial year, out of which Rs. 76 lakhs has been earmarked for construction purposes.
All the officers were directed to utilize the available financial and human resources judiciously to achieve the tangible targets within stipulated time. |
