| J&K Govt must emulate his simple, transparent employment policy | | Omar's obsession of drawing comparsions with Modi | | Early Times Report Jammu, Aug 17: J&K Chief Minister Omar Abdullah's 'obsession' with Gujrat Chief Minister Narender Modi has lately increased to such an extent that he compares everything promptly with Modi's state, his governance and his policies. At the centre of comparison albeit there is venom, sarcasm and loads of criticism, for all wrong things and happenings Omar chooses to compare. Seldom does he look at the sharp contrast in positive aspects of all round development scenario, or to mention the employment picture of Gujarat state, on which Omar lags far behind. Narender Modi in his Inedependence Day Speech, which drew the attention of entire nation on account of his open challenge to none other than the Prime Minister Dr manmohan Singh for his (Modi's) unparalleled achievements and accomplishments on development front, the dynamic Chief Minister made a mention of the employment scenario in his state. It was no exaggeration of figures nor any cribbing suggesting utter helplessness like Omar expresses very often while making a mention of the employees vis-a-vis lack of funds to bear the salary bill, arrears etc. Modi said it with a sense of pride that there are 5 lakh employees in his state working in the Government sector, a huge number, almost equal to what we have in J&K. While painting a positive and promising picture of employees working in Government sector, Modi went on to say that his Government would soon employ further 2 lakh employees and this employment process would be further simplified besides being transparent at all levels and for all posts. Here also, we have a sharp contarst with respect to what and how things are happening in our state. While one can understand the constraints in inability of J&K Government to employ as huge number as 2 lakh for a number of reasons, stark difference is on the front of both transparency in making appointments as also in the recruitment process and policy which is far from being simple and just straight. The point in arguemnt is that Chief Minister Omar Abdullah who is in teh habit of drawing comparison for wrong things, if at all has to do so he must do it on positive side as well. He must emulate what Modi is doing for the same number of employees, no matter with huge resources and proper planning, which also have come up with good governance and broad vision. Omar Abdullah must take a fresh look on the employment scenario and a flawed recruitment policy which is wrapped in layers of confusions and contradictions . Not to mention of employing youth in huge numbers, the Government has not been even able to implement its own order on Daily wagers which it announced in the Budget session of Assembly this year. It would be better if he for a change he chooses to compare the things on positive aspects, employment scenario and take some tips from the Gujrat Government. |
