| Smuggler held, Poppy Straw recovered | | | Jammu Aug 17: Police today have arrested one narcotics smuggler alongwith a consignment of poppy straw weighing upto over 23 kgs during a naka checking at Jhajjar Kotli, police said. According to police, based on specific information Police Station Jhajjar Kotli laid a Naka at Katra Domail at 0400 Hrs and during naka checking police stopped a truck (PB 06 E-2639) on its way from Srinagar to Jammu driven by Omkar Singh S/O Kapoor Singh R/O Khour Deyolian R S Pura." "During the thorough search of the vehicle, police recovered 23 KG 900 gms Poppy Straw (Bhukki) from his vehicle, police said further adding, "the accused driver is in Police custody and vehicle was seized."
Meanwhile a Case FIR No 110/13 U/S 8/15 NDPS act has been registered and investigation initiated. |
