SHOTOPA (KARGIL), Aug 17: The administration has made elaborate arrangements for the smooth conduct of the 3rd Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC), Kargil election-2013.
This was informed by District Development Commissioner, Kargil and Election Authority for the LAHDC Kargil election, Fida Hussain while addressing a press conference here today.
Fida Hussain told that the whole Kargil District is divided into 13 Zones with 13 Zonal Magistrates which is further divided into 26 Sectors with 26 Sectoral Magistrates and these magistrates will be responsible for maintaining Law and Order in their respective zones, Voter turnout reporting, safe arrival and departure of Voting officials and smooth functioning of elections.
He said that nomination filing phase was completed smoothly and after complete procedure 84 candidates are in the fray for 24 constituencies, people of 2 constituencies out of the 26 constituencies elected their nominees uncontested, namely Advocate Mohd Amir from Stakchey Khangral and Aga Mohammad Hassan (Arman) from Saliskote Constituency.
He told that the voter list of 1-1-2013 will be used for the elections and EPIC is compulsory for those who has got the Card and for the rest any other Identity Card, Ration Card or Identification by the head of the family is compulsory. |
