Jammu, Aug 17: Jammu is facing acute shortage of potable water subjecting thousands of people to inconvenience. The shortage has been caused by incessant reins Though the public health engineering department officials have been doing hard to come to the expectations of people but a lot more needs to be done to restore water supply. Presently, the PHE department is using water tankers across the region to supply the water but they haven't been able to meet the need of the people. In rural areas all major taps of water have been either washed away due to floods or not in good condition to provide safe and pure drinking water. People living in rural areas where the road connectivity are facing difficulties to get the drinking water. The water tankers being used by the PHE department are only supplying water to urban areas and few rural pockets where the road connectivity is proper. Rest of the areas has been put on the mercy of God.
