| Madan for strengthening disaster infra, visits Samba | | | Early Times Report SAMBA, Aug 17: Member Parliament Madan Lal Sharma today conducted a comprehensive tour of flood affected border and other areas in District Samba. He was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Samba and other officers. Prominent among others who joined the MP included former Minister Manjit Singh, Paramjit Singh Pama, Babal ji, Sarpanchs, Panchs and other prominent persons. After meeting with flood affected people, Sharma stressed upon the need of improving disaster infrastructure in all four districts of his Constituency viz Samba, Jammu, Rajouri and Poonch. He felt the need of developing a robust disaster management plans at District level and asked the Divisional and State Administration to equip the Deputy Commissioners as per the need. Sharma expressed grief over the death of Rakesh Kumar, a 22 years old young man who was drowned today in Kamoor Village. MP paid heartfelt condolences to the family and demanded immediate compensation to the family and Government job to any one of the family members. Sharma visited the areas including Nang, Rangoor Camp, Kamoor Camp/Village, Barota Camp. DC Samba briefed the MP about the measures taken to tackle the situation arisen due to floods and rains. MP asked the DC to access the losses in first priority and provide relief and compensation to the affected people. |
