| Bar firmly stands by people of Kishtwar | | | Et Report
Jammu, Aug 17: High Court Bar Association Jammu firmly stands by the people of Kishtwar and other regions of Jammu and vehemently supports their demands. In a statement a spokesperson of the Association said HCBAJ who had extended full and firm support to the demands of the people in the tragic and sad incident is with them in future also. "Bar Association, is of the steady view that negotiations should be directly held with the affected and aggrieved people regarding their demands/complaints pertaining to compensation, security and protection," he said and impressed upon the government to take stern action against the real culprits and expedite the inquiry of the Kishtwar incident as the serious allegations are against the local police, administration and the then MOS Home 'so as the truth is brought before the public whose faith has shattered in the present scenario and the accused are identified and dealt under law accordingly.' "Also it demanded that actual compensation for the loss of person and property be paid to the affected people to their entire satisfaction as the unfortunate incident has occurred due to administrative failure in which properties worth Lakhs were put to ashes by the miscreants," he added. Test possible medical treatment of the injured and forthwith release of the innocent persons if any detained by the police was also demanded. The Bar Association cautioned the government that in case VDCs are disbanded, there will be a great danger to the public living in militancy infested areas and will encourage antinational elements and would further disturb the peace and tranquillity of the region and instead it will lower down the morale of the nationalist forces who have always stood by the nation in the testing times. A committee of senior advocates of Kishtwar was also constituted for taking the feedback from the aggrieved of the region, who will report the whole matter to the President of the Association for further follow up action. |
