`Cricket won't help restore normalcy'

Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 19: Playing cricket with locals doesn't mean the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah is loved and cared by the people of any region of the state.
This was only a political stunt aimed at giving people a feel that he knows how to mingle with people. Omar wanted to come into limelight and directed his body guards to click pictures so that he can upload the same on Twitter.
The Chief Minister is much concerned about his politics rather than the welfare of the people of the state, a good number of whom are living under siege for the past eleven days. After so many days of curfew in Kishtwar, the Chief Minister didn't feel the need to visit the place to console the sufferers.
Omar was quick to deal with sectarian clashes in Valley's one part, but when it comes to other region of the state, he turns indifferent . Omar must not forget that Jammu and Kashmir is incomplete with people of erstwhile Doda district and can ignore this region for long.
Playing cricket with boys doesn't mean that everything is alright in the state. Photographs showing him playing cricket cannot bring normality back to the state. It is the administrative and political skills which a Chief Minister needs to run the state. And in a democracy, the chief must be aware of problems of people of all regions irrespective of being associated with a particular region.
Omar Abdullah must have realized one thing that the time has come when his party, National Conference will be wiped out from Chenab valley and the one seat which NC got from Kishtwar will not be regained by his close associate, Sajjad Ahmad Kitchloo.
Whatever has happened in Kishtwar will surely bring down the NC in the region and Omar will taste it soon.
