Anantnag, Aug 19: Mid Day Meal (MDM) woes still are haunting the concerned authorities as at least eight children fall ill after eating the Mid-Day Meal served at government Primary School Khiram in South Kashmir's Anantnag district on Monday. As per sources the sick children were rushed to the Primary Health Centre Khiram from where they were relieved after first aid. "Children were served mixed vegetables and soon after eating the food they fell ill and started complicating stomach pain," sources said further adding, "all of them are now in a stable condition.' A local teacher wishing not be named, blamed the cook for the incident. Adding hurriedly preparation of meals can be the reason as the ingredients including spices and other things may be used after expired date or be of lower quality. Soon after the news broke out Zonal Education Officer (ZEO) Srigufwara rushed on the spot to take stock of the situation. |
