JAMMU, Aug 19: The eight-month long cricket season of the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) shall start with the conduct of Dhruv Pandove under-14 Tournament hosted by Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association from September 20. The last event of the season, Twenty20 League Tournament for Mushtaq Ali Trophy, shall take place in April. All the five matches of the Twenty20 League have been allotted to Punjab Cricket Association.
As per the fixture finalized in the North Zone Fixture Committee meeting held in Srinagar on August 17, the under-19 Vinoo Mankad one-day tournament shall be held from October 20. Whereas the Cooch Behar (U-19) Plate Group-A League Phase shall start in the first week of December.
The prestigious Ranji Trophy competition shall take place from November seven with first tie hosted by JKCA at Srinagar. Similarly, the under-25 Col CK Nayudu Trophy Group-B League Phase has been scheduled in the month of October and November.
The under-16 Vijay Merchant competition shall take place from December 23.
Meanwhile, on being contacted, vice-chairman of the JKCA Jammu Wing, Shambu Nath Sharma confirmed the finalization of the fixture for all the eight events in different age groups.
On being asked about the preparations on ground, he said, "We are expecting a schedule of preparatory activities from the JKCA head office by the end of this week. As soon as the guidelines and roadmap reach us, we shall start the activities on ground." |
