JAMMU, Aug 19: The JK Public School (JKPS), Delhi Public School (DPS) and SRML Higher Secondary School among six teams today qualified for the quarterfinals of the inter-school under-19 boys Basketball competitions of Jammu district, organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) at Mini Stadium, Parade, here.
In the first round of pre-quarterfinals, played among 14 participating teams, JKPS outplayed Banyan Tree School 18-04 in a one sided contest. Another promising side of DPS trounced their opponent in Heritage School 16-06.
The only government-run institution taking part in the competition, SRML HS School registered a fine win over J&K Police Public School Miran Sahib. Other teams making it to the next round of quarterfinals included MHAC Nagbani, MIER and Air Force School.

Swimming: KC Public dominate
Meanwhile, host KC Public School dominated in under-19 boys' swimming meet winning most of the events decided today. Sasya Safaya and Honnash clinched two gold medals each for the KC Public.
