Students Cultural Council election delays
8/19/2013 11:20:10 PM

Because of delay in submission of nominations of the departmental secretaries with the Department of Students Welfare (DSW), the annual elections of the Students Cultural Council of the University of Jammu (JU) is all set to delay this year. The lackluster attitude of the Heads of the Departments, to complete the exercise that too after second reminder from the DSW, may cause delay in start of the annual Display Your Talent Contest.
On being inquired, the department revealed that out of a total of 36 such departments, 19 nominations have been received by the office of the DSW so far. "We are thinking of a third and final reminder to the remaining departments for the nominations. Hopefully, the exercise will complete by the end of this week," an official of the DSW said.
Soon after preparing a list of the nominated secretaries, the DSW shall issue the notification with regard to election of the Cultural Secretary and Joint Secretaries for the academic session.
The `Display Your Talent Contest' this year may take place in October as against the earlier practice of holding the event in September.
