JMC continues drive against adulteration

Jammu, Aug 20: Continuing its drive against adulteration, Health Officer Jammu Municipal Corporation, Dr. Vinod Sharma along-with a team of Food Safety Officers conducted an extensive tour in Bahu-Fort, Gandhi Nagar, Indira Chowk, Vikram Chowk and Nanak Nagar areas of Jammu City on Tuesday.
Fine of Rs 2100 was realized from defaulters during the checking. Moreover nine food samples of milk and milk products were lifted from different parts of Jammu city and sent to Public Analyst Jammu for ascertaining their standard of purity.
During the checking the citizens were advised not to smoke in the public places as fine of Rs 200 would be imposed to those not adhering to the norms. All the food establishment owners including halwai shopkeepers dealing in sale of sweets and other milk products were asked to adhere to the terms and conditions of FSS Act 2006 and keep their premises neat and clean.
