| Rajiv Gandhi remembered on his 69th birth anniversary | | | Early Times Report Jammu/Doda/Kathua/Udhmapur, Aug 20: Congress Seva Dal Doda today paid rich tributes to the former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi on his 69th Birth Anniversary at Block Assar of Doda district under the leadership of its chief organizer Surinder Singh Manhas. A large number Seva Dal volunteers and other from all walk of the life, paid rich tributes to Rajiv Ghandhi. Speaking on the occasion, Manhas said nothing is more important than the unity and integrity of our nation. He said Rajiv Ghandhi was a true visionary as he laid out road map for India's emergence as knowledge economy. He further said that Gandhi championed information technology and sort to take India into 21st Century. Chief Patron National Panther Party (NPP), Prof. Bhim Singh described Rajiv Gandhi as highly respectful, humane and nationalist who had his agenda to wipe off terrorism and violence in the country. In statement issued, Prof Bhim Singh said this while paying tribute on the birth anniversary of former prime minister. He never sacrificed his national commitment for the sake of vote-bank as the Congress and BJP leaders do today. Signing peace Accords with Santlogewal (Punjab and Assam) Accord to restore peace in these regions was a unique efforts to strengthen national integration. Prof. Bhim Singh said that had Rajiv Gandhi lived longer, perhaps the peace would have returned to J&K, Assam and India would not have fallen a prey to the Anglo American Bloc the situation in Iraq, Palestine, Libya, and Egypt would not have gone towards darkness. He said that Rajiv Gandhi along with the then Prime Minister, Indria Gandhi actively campaigned was the Congress candidate in Chenani yet Rajiv Gandhi refused to use any unparliamentarily words against Bhim Singh's. Congress Seva Dal Yoga Centre Jammu celebrated 69th birth annivarsary of Rajiv Gandhi former Prime Minister of India at near Pirkhoo Mandhir Jammu. Vipan Nischal was Chief Guest in the function which was organized by Rattan Sawhney, Chetan Sharma, Narender Sharma, Manjit Singh. Addressing the members, Vipan said that all the youths should follow the path shown by Late Rajiv Gandhi. While speaking on the occasion MLC Subash Gupta and Secretary Jammu Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee Manohar Singh, described Rajiv Gandhi as the architect of Panchayat Raj System in the Country. He fulfilled the dreams of great leaders like Mahatma Gandhi to devolve powers of planning and development to the grass root institutions of democracy, so that the people shape their own destiny as per their needs. The students and the staff members of Rajiv Gandhi Degree College organized a function in the college to celebrate the birth anniversary of late Rajiv Gandhi .On this day ,floral tributes were paid and a number of students and staff members spoke about the contribution made by the great visionary leader. Anu Dogra, Chairperson also spoke on the occasion. She summed up the views expressed by various speakers highlighting the policies initiated by late Rajiv Gandhi such as introducing the computer culture ,expansion of telecommunication system ,strengthening of education system by formulating a new policy of education and establishing Indira Gandhi National Open University.
