Jammu, Aug 20: In a public interest litigation (PIL) filed by SOS International and others seeking CBI probe regarding cross-voting in MLC election in 2011, Division Bench of High Court allowed the application filed by MLA Baldev Sharma. The DB comprising Justice Virender Singh and Justice Bansi Lal Bhat after hearing advocate SS Ahmed appearing for PIL, senior AAG Gagan Basotra for the state, advocate SK Shukla and advocate Harshvardan Gupta appearing for the private respondents allowed the application filed by Sharma as advocate Ahmed didn't raise any objections.
Adv Gupta for private respondent stated he does not want to file any reply to the instant petition and his statement is taken on records. Adv Shukla appearing for the private respondents stated that copy of the petition thereto has not been provided to him and upon this the DB directed that same be provided during this week enabling him to file reply within four weeks with a copy in advance to the other side. The DB directed to list this PIL along with other PIL in the week commencing September 23, 2013. (JNF) |
