ET Report Kathua, Oct 15 : Rued over the attitude of the government towards the demands of the retired employees, Provincial Pensioners Association staged a massive protest at Shaheed Bhagat Singh park on Tuesday. The protest was organized under the chairmanship of Balak Ram, besides the other prominent dignitaries Amarnath, Hans Raj, Raj Kumar, Pushap Raj, Nasseb Chand, Vaisakhi Ram also addressed the Dharna. All the speakers high lighted the problems faced by the pensioners of Jammu and Kashmir. Alleging the anti-employ policies of the state government Kabla Singh said that senior citizens of the state are not given the benefit at the age of 80 years, 85 years, 90, 95 & 100 years, while in 6th pay commission central Govt. Pensioners are given the benefit. He stressed upon the Govt. that arrears of 6th pay commission w.e.f 1/1/06 be given to the pensioners in one installment, anomalies in S.R.O 99 be removed & clarified by Govt. Moreover Medical allowance should be raised from Rs. 300/- to 1000/- per month and Arrears of 7& D.A due from July, 2008 to 3/09 has not been paid to the pensioners of J&K State. He appealed to the pensioners to be unite under so that the pressure can be maintained on the government. |
