| SIT produces challan against 12 for murdering handicapped PHE employee | | Kishtwar Violence | | 28 more declared absconders
Asif Iqbal Naik Kishtwar, Oct 15: In pursuance of ongoing investigation into August 9 and August 10 communal violence in Kishtwar and Padder that left 3 killed, beside wide spread loot and arson of government/public property, Special Investigation Team (SIT) constituted by the state government to probe the incident produced challan against 12 accused allegedly involved in brutal murder of a handicapped PHE employee Bashir Ahmed Moochi resident of Sangrabata Kishtwar before the court of Principal District and Sessions Judge Kishtwar. In another case FIR No: 146/2013 registered U/S 436/353/336/435/332/427/147/148/149 RPC, Sessions court declared 28 persons as absconders and issued warrants against them U/S 512 Cr.Pc. As per the details available with "Early Times" SIT produced challan in FIR No 147/13 U/S 302/307/436/435/14&/148/149/152/427/RPC registered at police station Kishtwar against Raj Kumar son of Somi Raj resident of Matta Kishtwar, Amit Kumar son of Subash Chandar resident of Bara Bhata Kishtwar, Ashish Kumar son of Subash Chandar resident of Bara Bhata, Roshan Lal son of Paras Ram resident of Matta Kishtwar, Subash Chandar son of Brij Lal resident of Bara Bhata, Virendar Singh son of Saroop Chand (Police constable) resident of Wassar Kishtwar, Ajay Kumar son of Girdari Lal resident of Wassar Kishtwar, Ajay Kumar son of Sava Ram resident of Begana Kishtwar, Shubam Kumar son of Ashok Kumar resident of Wassar Kishtwar, Mahindar Kumar son of Hukam Chand resident of Kuleed Kishtwar, Ranmeet Kumar son of Lekh Raj resident of Matta Kishtwar and Sharwan Kumar son of Sava Ram resident of Begana Kishtwar. Among the 12 accused named in the challan, only three accused namely Raj Kumar, Sharwan Kumar and Virender Singh were in police custody, while 9 other accused were declared as absconders by the court. Official sources said that the investigation in all the cases is still going on and added that with the arrest of 9 absconders involved in the murder, more persons involved in the killing of innocent person will come to the fore. This is the 7th challan produce by the SIT in the court of law in connection with Kishtwar and Padder violence. Police has registered atleast 16 FIRs in connection with Kishtwar violence and arrested over 50 persons so far, beside declared over 80 persons as absconder. SIT is hopeful to file more challans against the people allegedly involved in communal violence, loot and arson. The names of few women involved in the violence have also surfaced during the course of the investigation and investigating agency is verifying their exact role. Sources added that identification of more people involved in the crime is still going and added that all the guilty persons irrespective of their party and religious affiliation will be brought to book. It is pertinent to mention here that SIT produced challan in this murder case within five days after the direction passed by the Jammu and Kashmir High Court in a petition filed by the wife of the deceased seeking directions to SIT to arrest the accused involved in the murder of her husband. After going through the petition of the wife of the deceased, Justice Virender Singh directed the police to file detailed report of the investigation related to the murder of the husband of the petitioner before the court in two weeks along with the report of investigation into the death of Arvind Raj Baghat. |
