Et Report Jammu, Oct 15: Dubbing Omar Abdullah led coalition government as non performing liability, Peoples’s Democratic Party (PDP) today sought support of the people to change the prevailing inefficient and corrupt system in the State.Addressing series of public meetings at Purani Mandi, Brij Nagar, Krishana Nagar, Simbal Camp and other areas, Member Legislative Council and PDP candidate for Jammu-Poonch Lok Sabha seat Yash Pal Sharma said that PDP was committed to establish a transparent and accountable system to provide all comforts to people. While pointing towards complete failure of the present dispensation to provide basic amenities to the people, he reiterated that PDP wants to establish a system where every citizen would get equal opportunities of upliftment and development. He regretted that people of the state were confronting to get basic amenities like drinking water and power. Pointing towards problems of the educated unemployed youth of the state, he strongly demanded that recruitment process should be streamlined and there should be direct recruitment on government jobs."There is no need of appointing youth on contractual basis against over one lakh vacant posts in various government departments" he said and demanded that all the contractual employees should be regularized. Criticizing Omar Abdullah led regime for its failure to check corruption, he said that present NC-Congress regime has crossed all limits of corruption. "While as in other parts of the country a debate is going on how to eradicate the menace of corruption but in Jammu and Kashmir government itself is brazenly taking steps to weaken the anti-graft bodies", he said. At Purani Mandi, Sharma reminded the gathering that it was during the regime of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed that a comprehensive beautification plan was started for old city. He further recalled that water supply scheme was also implemented for Jammu city. Sharma also told the people at R S Pura that during the regime of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed there was complete peace on the borders. Trilok Singh Bajwa, Ved Mahajan, Shanti Devi, Hussain Ali Wafa, Bhushan Dogra, Deepinder Kour, Sohit Sharma, Choudhary Chuni Lal and others also spoke on the occasion. |
