JAMMU, Oct 15: Rajni Devi, Roshan Bibi and Aditi Uppal were declared best athletes in under-14, under-17 and under-19 age groups respectively in the two-day Divisional level inter-district (girls) athletics meet, organised by Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) at University of Jammu grounds, here today.
Among the district teams, Jammu girls dominated in all the three age groups thus clinched the overall championship trophies. The overall runners-up trophy went to district Kathua on the basis of points earned in various field and track events.
In the valedictory function, Deputy Director, Jammu, DYSS, Ved Parkash was the chief guest who gave away winners and runners-up trophies also other individual prizes.
Speaking to the budding athletes, Deputy Director disclosed that the department has planned to hold advance training sessions at the school level so as to improve the skills of talented stuff. Prominent among others present were District Officer Jammu, Tirath Ram, Zonal Physical Education Officers (ZPEOs), Sarita Pandha, Sher Singh, Jeet Singh, Saroman Dogra and Mohan Singh.
