Sports Reporter JAMMU, Nov 14: Skipper Parvez Rasool fought the lone battle as the duo of Shubam Khajuria and Ian Dev Singh again flopped against Himachal Pradesh in the Ranji Trophy Group-C tie that started today at Dharmsala. As per the reports reaching here, came second down, when J&K were struggling at 17 for two, Parvez played true captain's knock and hitting power-packed 101-ball 97 studded with 17 boundaries. He, along with Adil Rishi (47), added 109 runs for the third wicket brining the total to 126. Earlier, likewise match against Goa in Srinagar, both Shubam Khajuria (04) and Ian Dev Singh (0) gave away their wickets cheaply to bring the side under tremendous pressure after Himachal won the toss and opted to field. However, Parvez, who was hitting the bowlers hard, could not complete his century losing the wicket to Bali at 97. Soon after Parvez returned to the pavilion, J&K collapsed and remaining six wicket wickets fell for just 26 runs to bundle out at 178 in 54.1 overs. In reply, Himachal were batting confidently at 92 for the loss of one wicket in 33 overs. Now, Himachal needs 86 more runs with nine wickets. |
