| Social, political, educational organsiations celebrate "Children’s Day" with pomp , show | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 14: The NSS unit of Ramisht College of Education, Basohli organized a programme on "Talent Hunt Show" today on at the occasion of birthday of Jawahar Lal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of India. This day is also celebrated as "Bal Divas".In this programme students of the college presented colourful items like dance, folk song, pahari song and skits etc. Apart from this, a quiz competition was also organized. The main aim of organizing this programme was to enhance the general knowledge of the students. The Chairman of the college, Rajinder Parshad Sharma applauded the efforts of the students and blessed them for their bright future.At last, refreshment was served to all. Ramisht Twinkling Star Public High School, Basohli organized a programme on the occasion of "Children's Day", the Birthday of first Prime Minister, Jawahar Lal Nehru. Children used to call him as "Chacha Nehru". On this auspicious occasion, the school organized cultural programmes with the students and teachers helped them in this regard. The school organized songs, debates, picture exhibition, etc. Students and teachers remembered Pt. Nehru and his love for children and gave tribute to him. At the end, prizes were distributed among the students who took part in various cultural events and sweets were distributed to the students. KC Gurukul public School Paloura celebrated Children's Day with great fervor. All the students from Junior and senior sections remembered the immense work of Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru and paid rich tribute in the form of skits and recitation solely based on moral education . The teachers presented dance and songs for the children and distributed sweets amongst them on the behalf of school management. The chairman of KCGPSP wished good luck and success to the children and advised them to follow the virtuous path undertaken by Chacha Nehru. The Principal B.R. Dogra admired the skills of the students and the teachers who are responsible in shaping the future of the children. Floral tributes were paid to first Prime Minister Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru in a function held at PCC HQ. Shaheedi Chowk Jammu, to celebrate his 124th Birth Anniversary today. The function was attended by Senior functionaries of PCC, DCC, BCC, Mahila Congress Ward presidents, INTUC, Seva Dal, Youth and NSUI. The function was presided over by Pt. Dharam Pal Sharma-Ex-MP and Pt. Mangat Ram Sharma-former Deputy Chief Minister was the Chief Guest. Prominent leaders who paid tributes included Thakur Hari Singh, S. Gurmukh Singh, Ravinder Shama-MLC, Mula Ram, R. S. Chib, Lal Mohammad Sabir, Indu Pawar-MLA, Thakur Puran Singh, Thakur Shiv Dev Singh, S. R. Sudhir, Chuni Lal Bhat, Thakur Manmohan Singh, Smt. Zahida Khan and Smt. Gurbachan Kour. While paying tributes the speakers described Pt. Nehru as a great visionary and architect who laid the foundation of Modern India. They said devotion to democracy was one of Nehru's political principal and the building of a democratic, social and political system was one of his principal objectives. For him political democracy was a means of solving social problems. He laid the foundation of Panchayati Raj and Community development programmes because he believed that first objective of the state was social welfare and empowerment of the people. He was architect of Non Aliened Movement (NAM) a third force in the World organization to finish the domination of big powers. He started planning system paving way to growth of public sector with massive investment in basic and heavy industries and resolved into industrialization of the country. He (Pt. Nehru) also laid foundation of India's atomic energy for peaceful use and selected Dr. Homi Bhabha who established atomic research centre in Mumbai which is known as Bhabha Atomic Research Center. The leaders condemned the efforts of communal and divisive forces to distort the history, achievements and philosophy of Pt. Nehru in order to gain cheap publicity. Other prominent who attended the function were K. L. Abrol, S. Gurmeet Singh, D. S. Langeh, S. Kirtan Singh, Ravi Singh Salathia, Rajiv K. Gupta, Mansa Ram, Mian Nazir Ahmed, Pt. Jagan Nath, Keshvaanand, J. L. Kaul, Vijay Shrama, Sanjeev Sharma, V. K. Sethi, B. B. Gupta, S. Gurdarshan Singh, S. H. S. Mehta, Kewal Krishan Yogi, Santosh Magotra, Prabha Salathia, Baljeet Manhas, Pankaj Chibber, Vijay Pandita, Dr. Naseem Choudhary, Rashpal Singh Chib, Thomas Khokhar, Kirna Devi and Sita Devi. An ode to Chacha Nehru was given by celebrating Children's Day with great fervor and gaiety, by the teachers for their loving students. 'Bal mela' was the main attraction of the day, children going gaga over 'Desi Beats' and 'Mouth-watering stalls. Teachers had put up a nice cultural show as a gesture of love for their dear children. The esteemed chairperson Satvinder Saini and the vice principal Rama Jamwal graced the occasion and showered their blessings upon the students and motivated them to follow righteous path. Children Day or 'Bal Diwas' which coincides with the birthday of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, our first Prime Minister was celebrated with gaiety and fervour under the patronage of Anshul Chachra, President, Family Welfare Organisation (FWO), Northern Command for 45 differently abled children from the Udhampur based ASHA school and 40 children from the Drona hostel at " Tara Mount", official residence of the Army Commander at Udhampur Garrison on Thursday. Mrs Chachra's affection towards children was evident from the excellent arrangements made personally by her to make the day special for children. A special magic show and entertainment programme was organised for the children besides fun games, joy ride and dance. The area buzzed with excitement and joy as beautifully dressed up children participated in the fun filled activities organized for them. Not to be left behind in displaying their talent, children presented melodious songs. During her interaction with the staff, President, FWO complimented them for their dedication, personal care and attention given to each child. The event culminated with the distribution of sweets and books to all children by Anshul Chachra, President, FWO, who also hosted a lunch for the children and school staff on the occasion. The birth anniversary of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru was celebrated with great enthusiasm in R.M Public School premises as the students were made to feel very special by the teachers where in teachers and coordinator Pooja Padwal presented a heart throbbing programme for the little ones which include dance, jungle skit and the whole school was decorated with colourful bunting. Dignitaries present in the function applauded the teacher's effort. Special Assembly was also organized by the teachers. Students came in colourful dress with out bags and enjoyed fun party in school. Over all the day was a fun day for the students as they were really made to feel very important. Welcome speech was presented by vice- principal Shashi Jamwal and vote of thanks by primary coordinator Meenakshi Pathania. Esteemed guests I D Soni and R Koul present on the occasion also wished and encouraged the students. Chairman Rameshwar Mengi and trustee Rita Mengi distributed sweets among the children. Ravinder Kour along with administrator Meenakshi Sharma wished students a very Happy Children's Day and appreciated the effort put in by the teacher to make the celebration a grand success. Sunrise Public School (a unit of Sunrise Educational Trust) organised Children's Day programme at Channi Himmat Jammu. Lot of activities was done by the children of Sunrise Public School. Singing and dancing competition was held. Mangat Ram Sharma ex Dy.Chief Minister Jammu and Kashmir who was the chief guest of the programme said Sunrise Educational Trust is doing a very noble cause in education field and they are serving weaker section of society free of cost . He distributed the sweets, uniform, among the children and said today is also the birthday of Jawahar lal Nehru Manpreet Kour director of the Sunrise Education Trust said we are providing free education, free uniform, free books and refreshment of the weaker section of the society. Main motto of the trust each and every child should get the education .They are the back bone of the society. We are planning to start the school upto 5th next year and slowly slowly upto the level of 12th.we will try to open this type of school in each and every district of Jammu and Kashmir and in India and abroad also. District Congress Seva Dal Jammu Urban (DCSDJU) organized a function to celebrate Birth Anniversary of Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru at Govt. Middle School Sahedi Chowk under the leadership of BS Sambyal, State Chief Congress Seva Dal J&K. Speaking on the occasion, BS Sambyal highlighted the role of Nehru in building the nation. He said Nehru was architect of modern India and he was the symbol of secularism and work for the non-alignment movement among the nation and he was the great leader who did work for peace of foreign relation with the foreign countries for the welfare of humanities. Jammu Public Higher Secondary School Wazart Road held function at its school premises. Students presented a colourful programme depicting Indian culture. Addressing the students, principal of the school threw light on the importance of the day. At the end of the programme, students were distributed sweets.The students of Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan (BLSKS) and National Computer Centre ,Jammu celebrated 'Childrens day. VK Magotra, former Regional Director of Director of Field Publicity , Government of India was the chief Guest on the occasion. A cultural program was organized by the students of Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan and Children of National Computer centre presented various poems and Songs on the occasion. A special assembly was organized by the teachers of Lawrence Public School for the students of Panjtirthi and Sidhra branch to commemorate the birth anniversary of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. The teachers dressed themselves as students organized different cultural programs and events for the students. The students were amused to see their teachers perform on stage. JK Little Millennium School, Talab Tillo, celebrated Children's Day with great endeavor and enthusiasm. Students were dressed in colorful costumes. Students imprinted their hand prints on white paper. Devotional Movie on Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru ji was shown to the Children so that they learn more about his contributions to the society. Sweets were distributed among the children. Games were played so that Children could enjoy more. The students of MV International School were abuzz with enthusiasm over the celebration of Children's Day. A special morning assembly was conducted. The stage looked lively with prep wing students attired in fascinating white caps and snow while dresses depicting the early childhood days of the greatman. Dati Toddi memorial (DTM) convent Hr. Sec school Ratnal Bishnah also held a function on children's day today. A colourful programme was organized in the school campus where students presented various items with the help of staff members, which was appreciated by the gathering. Principal of the school Sunita Bangotra through light on the impontants of children's day and encouraged to follow the path of Pt. Nehru. She also congratulated the students and the staff for presenting the colourful programme at the campus. Meanwhile, Students of T.S. Public School and Euro Kids celebrated Children's Day with great enthusiasm and vigour in the school premises. A special assembly was conducted by the teachers as a tribute to Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru on his birthday and as a token of love to the students. A Fancy Dress competition was organized in which children were dressed as Spiderman, fruits, vegetables, fairies, krish and batman. They were adjusted for standing first, second and third. The rest of the students were also awarded with participation certificates. The Chairperson of T.S. Group of Educational Institutions, Pooja Malhotra blessed the children and expressed her gratitude towards the great nation builder remembering Jawahar Lal Nehru for his contribution towards India's achievement.
