| Plying of 5 SRTC buses from Bus Stand to Jagti township demanded | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Nov 15: Jagti Tenement Committee and Soan Kashmir Front J&K has expressed grave concern over the sufferings of 20,000 souls putting up at Jagti Migrant camp due to lack of all basic amenities. Shadi Lal Pandita, President has said that due to lack of proper transport facilities the inmates of this migrant camp have to suffer lot during morning as well as evening hours as the mini buses plying on this route ply over loaded in morning hours with the result the aged and in firms are unable to seek accommodation in the over loaded vehicles for their journey to their respective destinations and in the evening after 4 p.m. acute shortage of transport facilities are experienced. An appeal has been made to the government as well as authorities concerned for deputing five SRTC buses for plying on Bus Stand to Jagti route to facilitate the passengers of this migrant camp. It has also been said that despite repeated requests to the authorities concerned for ensuring proper power supply to this migrant camp still 14 hours power curtailments are been implemented which has put the inmates to lot of sufferings. The concerned authorities have appealed to ensure atleast 16 hours power supplies a day to mitigate the sufferings of the inmates. The participants have said that large families as well as Bifurcated families in Jagti Migrant camp are accommodated in single accommodation thereby adding to the sufferings of the members of such families. An appeal has been made to the authorities for allotting separate residential quarters to such big families/ bifurcated families for managing suitable accommodation to overcome the present sufferings. An appeal has also been made for making allotments of the quarters in favour of those migrants left out in different camps on priority basis. Kar, Saroop Nath, Sanjay Pandita, Mithan Ji, K.L. Pandita, P.N. Dhar, Pran Nath Bhat, Ramesh Bhat, Hari Krishan, Gopi Nath Shah, Ashok Tickoo, Girdhari Lal, B.N. Thusoo and others. |
