DSS to honour Ramleela committees

Jammu, Nov 15 : Dogra Sadar Sabha(DSS) will honour Ramleela clubs/committees looking into their contribution towards society.
Talking to reporters today, President Youth Wing DSS, Gambhir Charak said, "DSS has decided to give a boost to the age old tradition of the land- of showcasing "Shri Ram Leela" during Navaratras by honouring the Ramleela clubs/committees engaged in keeping this tradition alive because Shri Ram Leela provides an opportunity to every individual to focus on the philosophy of Karma, Truth and Duty.
These Ramleela Clubs/Committees are indirectly propagating and inculcating the social and moral values in the society by staging Ramleela".
Charak declared that for the first time in the history of the state, DSS will be honouring these clubs/committees for their contribution towards the society by performing Shri Ramleela during the recent Navaratras.
He informed that the "Felicitation Function" is being organized by Youth Wing, DSS alongwith UNISON® in collaboration with Ministry of Culture, GoI on November 17 at Bishnah. Gulchain Singh Charak, Former Minister will preside over the function and Raman Bhalla, Minister for Culture, J&K has consented to be the Chief Guest".
He further disclosed that the felicitation function will be followed by "Duggar Lok Rang" in which renowned artists will be performing. He appealed the general public to attend the function in large number so as to encourage these Ram Leela Clubs/Committees and the local artists who are keeping alive the traditions and culture in this sacred land of Dogras.
