| Mis-appropriation in execution of Mid Day meals | | | Early Times Reports
doda, Nov 15: The continuously mis-appropriation in execution of Mid Day meals in Government schools of various zones in Distt. Doda has led to observation of a new and big scam particularly in High School Bagla where all the rice for mid day meals have been distributed dry among the School children of 9th and 10th classes which was meant for 30 children of 5th to 8th classes from September 2013 to March 2014.
Unfortunately the rice was distributed to the students of 9th and 10th classes as dry rice and the fake bills for thousands of rupees as payment of ingredients have been submitted to ZEO Office Ghat for withdrawal.
Parents of the local children including Ab. Aahad Malik, Farooq Ahmed and Gh. Hassan has blamed that the school teachers who often distribute the raw commodities among the students and the schools never take responsibility of cooking the meal inspite of proper withdrawal of bills.
One of the locals claimed that only 50 kg rice have been kept in the house of a local teacher Parveena Begum to show the balance to authorities and all the rice up to March have been illegally distributed as dry in the end of closing session.
Dida region President of All India Students Federation (AISF) Com Mukesh Parihar demanded enquiry into the matter and he asked to the education Officer to take hard steps in the Mid Day Meal Scheme to make it better.
Chief Education Officer Doda Mohd Ashraf Rather has said that he has ordered a enquiry into the matter and any founded guilty will be punished under law strictly. |
