| Govt failed to execute developmental programes in backward areas: PDP | | | Early Times Report Kalakote (Rajouri), Nov 15: Lambasting coalition regime for virtually halting developmental activities in the state. Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) today regretted that residents of the backward and far-flung areas have been bearing brunt of the government non serious attitude towards executing development programmes. Addressing a public meetings at Solki and Potha areas of Kalakote assembly segment, PDP candidate for Jammu-Poonch Lok Sabha seat Yash Pal Sharma, MLC said Omar Abdullah led coalition regime has failed to implement central sponsored poverty alleviation schemes in remote areas. He further said that various schemes for the development of backward areas were also failed to take off in most of the remote areas. He mentioned that PMGSY programme which was aimed at connecting inaccessible areas through road connectivity with the nearby towns has virtually came to halt in the remotest areas of remote areas because State Government was failed to properly implement this programme. Contesting claims of the coalition regime on developmental fronts, he said that failure of the authorities to implement PMGSY programmes in backward areas speaks about non serious attitude of those who are at the helm of the affairs. He reminded that during the regime of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed various developmental projects were initiated for the backward regions but the present dispensation has reversed the whole process. Coming down heavily on the coalition regime headed by Omar Abdullah, PDP leader said that during the last five years this government has done nothing to ameliorate lot of the people. He regretted that instead of mitigate woes of the people, this regime multiplied problems of the masses due to its mis-goverance and mal-practices. He further said that over-whelming response to PDP in the campaign of Lok Sabha elections is endorsement of the pro-peace and pro developmental policies being propagated by her party and appreciation of the good work done by the previous PDP led regime in the state. A B Shah, Ahsan Mirza, Tahir Lone, Ayub Wani, Tazeem Dar, Sajjan Singh, Sarpanch, Amar Singh Josh, Naresh Sharma, Harbajan Singh, Paramjeet Verma, Master Prem Sharma, Lal Singh, Master Abdullah, Baisakhi Ram, Netar Parkash, Virta and others also spoke on the occasion.
