Police books 143 for traffic rule violations in Nov

Udhampur, Dec 7: Continuing the offensive against traffic rule violators, the Udhampur Police booked 143 more offenders for traffic rule violations in its month long drive in last month.
Giving details, Anil Magotra, SSP Udhampur said to curb the menace of fatal and non-fatal accidents taking many innocent lives, jamming at National Highway and traffic congestions at other bottlenecks in main markets of Udhampur town and all other major peripheral towns of district Udhampur, a drive was launched by Udhampur Police. During the said drive 143 offenders were booked during the month, he added.
He also mentioned that apart from the action under law against the violators, general public was educated with regard to the traffic rules for their safety. "All the territorial officers were directed to strictly deal with the traffic rule violators under law especially overloading in the passenger vehicles commuting from far flung areas to avoid any loss of innocent lives due to fatal road accidents, he added.
